Southern Staffordshire comprises the 5 districts of Cannock Chase, East Staffordshire, Lichfield, South Staffordshire and Tamworth. It contains the towns of Burton upon Trent, Burntwood, Cannock, Lichfield, Rugeley, Tamworth and Uttoxeter and is interlaced with a series of villages and communities. The area is of a very significant scale, home to almost 500,000 people and over 18,000 businesses.

Southern Staffordshire is crossed by several major roads including the M6, A5 and A38 and of more recent vintage the M6 Toll. Important rail routes including the West Coast Mainline and a number of commuter lines into Birmingham also traverse it.

Southern Staffordshire is at the centre of the UK’s highway, rail and air network with the M6 Toll running through it.
